National judicial council ends EMERGENCY meeting on arrest of judgesYesterday

The National Judicial Council (NJC)has finished their meeting over the arrest of some judge by the DSS– The results of the meeting will be announced tommorrow, on Thursday,October 13The National Judicial Council (NJC) has ended an emergency meeting dedicated to the arrest of some judges by the Department of State Services (DSS).However, the outcome of the meetingthat commenced on Tuesday remains unclear as the council is yet to make it public on Thursday, October 13.

Nevertheless, the Nation reporters have managed to get a comment from the insider who said: “We ended the meeting today after exhaustively considering the unfortunate incident involving some of our judges.Members strongly condemned it. Wealso agreed on the successor to the outgoing CJN, and have resolved to allow the tradition remain.  It was generally agreed that the mostsenior Justice of the Supreme Court should succeed my lord, Justice Mohammed, who is scheduled to quit the bench on November 10.”Recall that Justice Mahmud Mohammed, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), had promised on Monday to adress the issue of the arrest at the NJC meeting.
